What are the differences between the C7E and C7X displays and how to exchange?

Arenal needed to update HMI's in the last five years for a few times. The reason is that the ProFace displays were not deliverable during Covid-19, so we had to find another brand.
We selected the Cimon C7E display. This is an old product from Cimon, South Korea, with a large installed base and readily available.
The technology however is based on Windows embedded, which is not supported or developed anymore by Windows.
Althought the display works well, Arenal found some issues in it with the intensive Modbus RTU use and the large application.

The new technology in the new C7X HMI from Cimon is based on Linux with quad core processors.
Arenal is the first user in the world and has significantly contributed to its developement.
There are however some issues in the intensive dual port Modbus RTU in combination with the large application program. It could be that in some cases, the stability is not perfect. In early October 2024, this had been solved as well.
By VPN remote access (Remote Monitoring) Arenal is able to update the firmware as well as the application, so we recommend all customers to have this available.

The C7E and C7X version have the same dimensions and same connections.

How to upgrade?
1. Write down the water calibration coefficent and the slurry field calibration
2. Remove the USB stick from the C7E (Cimon model: CM-XT07CD-DE) and put it in your PC or laptop
3. Look for the "114xxx...csv" file and rename it to "114xxxOLD.csv". You can move it from the USB stick to your laptop, because you do not need it anymore.
4. We have send you new files of the same probe. Copy the one with the same name to the USB stick
5. Put this USB stick in the new C7X (Cimon model: CM-eXT07)
6. Exchange the C7E for the new C7X
7. Start up the analyzer
8. Go to configure menu/ ultrasonic density transmitter / calibration
9. Select the new "114xxx...csv" file
10. Configure the analyzer with the old watercalibration coefficient and field calibration. Set the mA outputs correctly.
